The Sage Way Global Exim: Mastering Time in the Spice Trade. Most exporters start with the product and learn logistics later; we did the opposite. Built on a 13-year family legacy of perishable exports (via Velan Fresh Farm), we bring "Zero-Delay Discipline" to the global trade of coffee and spices. Having mastered the high-pressure environment of air-shipping fresh produce to Singapore, we treat every shipment of dry commodities with the same urgency and precision. Sourcing directly from the estates of Chikkamagaluru and Idukki, we ensure that the potency of the Western Ghats reaches our global partners without the quality drops caused by transit delays.

Overview

Our Arabica Plantation PB is a rare and coveted selection, often referred to as the "pearl" of Indian coffee. Unlike standard coffee cherries that contain two flat-faced beans, the Peaberry is a natural mutation where only one small, oval bean develops. Because of its rounded shape, these beans roll more easily in the roasting drum, allowing for an exceptionally even heat distribution and a more uniform roast.

Product Description

Sensory Profile

  • Aroma: Highly concentrated and floral, with intense sweet notes.

  • Acidity: Vibrant, lively, and slightly more pronounced than its flat-bean counterparts.

  • Body: Medium to light, with a distinctively smooth and refined texture.

  • Tasting Notes: A bright, complex cup characterised by concentrated fruit acidity, citrus zest, and a delicate honey-like sweetness that persists in the finish.

The Craftsmanship

  • Selective Harvesting: These "pearl" beans are meticulously separated from the main harvest during the grading process. They represent only about 5% of the total coffee crop, making them a limited and premium offering.

  • Traditional Cultivation: Grown under the ancient shade-canopy systems of the Western Ghats, the Peaberry benefits from a slower maturation process, which concentrates the flavour into its singular, dense structure.

  • Pristine Processing: The beans undergo a full wash and controlled sun-drying. The labour-intensive nature of hand-picking and mechanical grading ensures that only the most perfect, high-density Peaberries make it into our export lots.

Buyer questions

Frequently asked by buyers

Common questions B2B buyers ask before sourcing Arabica Plantation PB Green Bean (Washed). Answers compiled from verified sellers' commercial terms and platform data.

Q: What makes this Arabica Plantation PB different from standard flat-bean Arabica?
A: This is a peaberry grade, meaning each cherry develops a single oval bean instead of two flat beans. That rounded shape is prized for more even roasting and is considered a premium selection in specialty coffee sourcing.
Q: What is the moisture content of this green bean lot?
A: The stated moisture content is 10% to 12.5%, which is suitable for commercial green coffee handling and export-oriented roasting programs.
Q: What is the packing format for bulk shipment?
A: The beans are packed in 60 kg jute bags, and GrainPro or Ecotact liners are recommended for improved protection during storage and international transport.
Q: Where is this coffee sourced from?
A: This product originates from Karnataka in the Western Ghats region of India, known for shade-grown Arabica cultivation.
Q: How is this peaberry processed?
A: It is fully washed and sun-dried, with careful hand-picking and grading used to separate the peaberries from the main harvest.
Q: What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale purchase?
A: The minimum order quantity is 1 metric ton.
Q: What cup profile can roasters expect from this lot?
A: The sensory profile is floral and sweet, with vibrant acidity, medium to light body, citrus zest, fruit acidity, and a honey-like finish.
