Product details

The Large Direct Shear Apparatus is designed to determine the shear strength parameters, cohesion (c) and angle of internal friction (φ) of coarse-grained soils, gravelly soils, rock fills and large-aggregate soil mixtures. Available in 30 kN and 50 kN capacities, with large specimen boxes and configurations with proving ring, dial gauge or digital data acquisition systems, as per IS 2720 (Part 13) and ASTM D3080.

Available Models

TM-065-3010 – 30 kN large direct shear apparatus with proving ring and dial gauge, suitable for 300 × 300 × 150 mm specimen boxes.
TM-065-50 – 50 kN large direct shear apparatus for high-capacity testing of coarse soils, gravel mixtures and large-aggregate materials.
UST-106 (II) – 50 kN large direct shear apparatus available in modular configuration without proving ring, dial gauge, gearbox, gear reducer, motor, lever ratio bar and weights.
TM-065-50DPC – 50 kN electronic digital large direct shear apparatus with digital measurement and software-based data acquisition.
GT-107DPCFA – Fully automatic large direct shear apparatus with data acquisition and retrieval system for automated testing and recording.
