Types of mild steel round bars
Mild steel round bars are available in two primary types, differentiated by their manufacturing process and surface finish.
Hot-rolled mild steel round bars: These are formed by heating steel billets and passing them through rollers at high temperatures.
Surface: Rough, scaly surface.
Best for: Structural applications and general-purpose projects where dimensional accuracy is not critical.
Cold-drawn (bright) mild steel round bars: Produced at room temperature, these bars are pulled through a die to achieve a more precise diameter and smoother surface.
