Red Rajma

Red Rajma is a food-grade dry pulse derived from Phaseolus vulgaris, processed into whole dried red kidney beans. It is commercially relevant to canned-bean manufacturers, grocery wholesalers and catering supply, with acceptance determined by grain integrity and consistent preparation. Its typical appearance is red kidney-shaped whole beans, while natural crop variation may influence colour and seed size.

Importer quality inspection places particular emphasis on size calibration, colour uniformity and hydration performance. One technical benchmark is Moisture ≤15% (Codex tropical/long-storage beans). Applicable commodity standards and destination rules provide reference limits for moisture and extraneous matter. Mechanical cleaning, de-stoning, grading and inspection for infestation are important before bagging. Broken, weevilled or discoloured grains are recorded separately where the selected grade requires them.

For commercial shipments, intact moisture-resistant food-grade sacks, traceable batch labels and dry palletised storage reduce transport risks. Incoming lots may also be assessed for pesticide residues and contaminants against the importing market's rules. Specifications distinguish published limits from any additional trade-grade targets.
