GRP and Plastic Measurement

Multigauge 5300 is a robust ultrasonic thickness gauge for checking GRP and engineering plastics. It can also measure uncoated metal, giving inspectors one stated instrument for several material types within its specified sound-velocity and measurement ranges.


Measurement Ranges

The sound-velocity range is 1000 m/s to 8000 m/s. Engineering-plastic thickness ranges from 2 mm to 300 mm depending on material, while the stated GRP range is 2 mm to 12 mm depending on the GRP composition.


Probe and Instrument Interface

A 1 MHz single-crystal hard-faced probe is stated. The colour LCD provides operator information, menu-driven controls support calibration, and Intelligent Probe Recognition automatically adjusts settings when recognition information is transmitted from the connected probe.
