COMING SOON We handcrafted our version of caffein-free Sulaimani for you to bring you a rich and royal Arab experience in every cup. This beautiful amber beverage of spices and organic rooibos, makes a refreshingly fragrant cup. It is had with an invigorating squeeze of lemon, but never any milk. Tasting notes: The deep amber color and delicate spiced fragrance of this tea comes from a blend of organic rooibos, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and black pepper. Steeping notes: Steep 1 teaspoon of tea in a cup (200ml) of hot water (boil and cool to 98°C), for 2 minutes. Strain and serve hot. Ingredients: Organic rooibos, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and black pepper
According to folklore, Sulaimani tea is believed to have its origin in the Arab tradition. It is said that Prophet Mohammed used to enjoy drinking a beverage called ‘ghava’ which had dates, black pepper, but had no tea or sugar. Over the years, the recipe changed course and once it was introduced to the Malabar coast of India by Arab traders, it took a different form. ‘Sulaiman’ in Arabic translates to ‘man of peace.’
This caffeine-free botanica is known to be had as a digestive drink after heavy meals, especially after having biryani during festive occasions. It is also known to improve gut health and reduce bad cholesterol.
No matter how elaborate a meal, there is always room for a tiny glass of Sulaimani. But I believe this hot Malabar Sulaimani can also fit in for any day when you want to drink something soothing and hot. Languages blend, borders melt, and cultures meet, all over a steaming glass of Sulaimami tea, a beverage that bridges an intensely multi-cultural society, and apparently does a good job at that. To ensure you do not miss out, we designed this caffeine-free version for you.
