These are made from nickel-iron-chromium austenitic alloy. The nickel content is less than half of the total amount of alloys present in the fastener. It is super austenitic due to the presence of iron in abundance in it. These fittings offer excellent resistance to corrosion under the effect of water, air, and alkali. They offer tremendous resistance to attacks of all kinds of acids especially sulfuric acid. They even withstand the after-effects of contact with hot sulfuric acid. These are equally potent with the bases.

These fittings are commonly found in chemical mixers and fertilizer manufacturing equipment. The presence of nickel in a considerable proportion makes it light weighted and shiny.
