Sterile absorbable surgical suture composed of purified connective tissue (collagen) derived from the sub-mucousal layer of sheep intestine

Polished to give uniformity of diameter along the strand and a smooth surface for easy tissue passage

It has been tanned by treatment with chromium salt in the trivalent form and with oxidised pyrogallol to prolong its resistance to absorption and to color the material dark brown (colour index number 76515).
