TOPASIGN 50 Tablet is a prescription medication containing Topiramate 50 mg, a broad-spectrum anticonvulsant drug widely used for the treatment of epilepsy, seizure disorders, and migraine prevention. Topiramate is known for its multifaceted mechanism of action, which includes modulation of voltage-gated sodium channels, enhancement of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) activity, inhibition of glutamate receptors, and inhibition of carbonic anhydrase enzymes. These mechanisms work together to stabilize neural activity in the brain and prevent the excessive firing of neurons that leads to seizures and migraines.

TOPASIGN 50 is commonly prescribed for patients with partial-onset seizures, primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of childhood epilepsy.
