The Legacy of S.T. Lokhandwala: A Journey of Growth and Dedication
The foundation of our business was laid in 1943 by Mr. Taherbhai Abdulkaderbhai Lokhandwala , who named the shop after his son, S.T. Lokhandwala . The journey began with the humble trade of scrap materials.
In 1954, his son Mr. Shabbirbhai Taherbhai Lokhandwala took the reins and introduced the sale of locks, starting with a modest investment of just ₹300. His success in this venture encouraged him to expand into various hardware products. Throughout this journey, he was wholeheartedly supported by his wife, Mrs. Ashrafi Shabbir Lokhandwala.
In 1965, the shop was officially registered with the government, marking a significant milestone in the business's growth. Over the years, their three sons joined the business, bringing fresh energy and vision.
By 1985, with the entry of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in Surat, we became the first registered vendor , proudly holding vendor registration number 001. Later, in the late 1990s, with Reliance Industries starting operations in Surat, full responsibility of the business was passed on to the next generation:
