2. 1509 Basmati Rice
1509 is a premium long-grain Basmati variety known for its long slender grains, good aroma and excellent cooking elongation. It has a shorter maturity period than 1121 and is widely used in export markets. It is suitable for biryani, pulao, restaurants, foodservice and retail markets.
3. Pusa Basmati 1718
Pusa Basmati 1718 is an improved Basmati variety developed for the GI-designated Basmati-growing regions. It combines long slender grains, characteristic Basmati aroma and good cooking quality with improved agronomic characteristics. It is suitable for premium domestic and international markets and is among India's important foreign-exchange-earning Basmati varieties.
4. Sona Masuri Rice
Sona Masuri is a popular non-Basmati rice variety known for its relatively lightweight, medium-grain profile, mild aroma and soft cooking characteristics. It is widely used as an everyday rice and is suitable for steamed rice, pulao, South Indian cuisine, restaurants, household consumption and international markets. APEDA lists Sona Masuri among India's important non-Basmati rice varieties.
