Jharokha

Before glass windows and steel frames, there were Jharokhas — those ornate overhanging balconies that let the women of Rajasthan watch the city below while remaining unseen. Every haveli had one. Every Jharokha told a story about who lived inside. This one tells yours. About the Craft The Jharokha wall piece is hand-carved by artisans in Rajasthan — the city where this architectural form is most alive. The intricate lattice work, layered arches, and geometric jali detailing follow the visual grammar of Rajput haveli architecture. Made from seasoned Kadamb wood, the piece is substantial and richly finished. This is not a print of a Jharokha. It is the craft of one, scaled for your wall. Vastu Tip Hang the Jharokha on the east wall or The main feature wall of your living room — east is associated with new energy, sunlight, and openings in Vastu Shastra, a natural alignment for an architectural window piece. The north wall is also excellent — the direction of Kuber and abundance. This piece works especially well as a centrepiece above a console table.
