CLOZOLE-V6 Tablet is a vaginal antifungal formulation used to treat infections caused by Candida species, primarily Candida albicans, which is the most common pathogen responsible for vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). The formulation contains Clotrimazole, an imidazole-class antifungal agent, known for its broad-spectrum fungistatic and fungicidal activity. This product is intended for intravaginal use only and is formulated as a vaginal tablet that dissolves at body temperature for localized, sustained antifungal action.

Mechanism of Action:

Clotrimazole exerts its antifungal activity by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption in membrane integrity causes leakage of cellular contents, leading to fungal cell death. The localized vaginal application allows for high drug concentrations directly at the site of infection, resulting in rapid symptom relief and microbial eradication.

Clinical Indications:

CLOZOLE-V6 is primarily indicated for:

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC)

Recurrent yeast infections

Symptomatic relief of itching, burning, and discharge associated with fungal vaginitis

Adjunctive therapy in mixed vaginal infections (when fungal component is confirmed)

Formulation and Composition:

Each vaginal tablet contains:

Clotrimazole IP 100 mg

Excipients: Lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, starch, and other pharmaceutical-grade tablet bases designed to facilitate rapid disintegration and mucosal adherence within the vaginal cavity.

Dosage and Administration:

One vaginal tablet should be inserted deep into the vagina once daily, preferably at bedtime.

The usual course is for 6 consecutive days (hence V6).

Patients should be advised to complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms resolve earlier.
