World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) is a global non-profit organization, headquartered at Noida, India, that has been spearheading the cause and development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) world over since its inception in 1980. Over 38 years, WASME has emerged as one of the most representative, effective and leading international organization working towards the promotion of MSMEs worldwide through Policy Advocacy, Information Dissemination, Conferences, Seminars, Events, Trainings, Publication, Network linkages and many more. WASME enjoys consultative status with many UN agencies such as UNCTAD, ITC, WIPO, UNIDO, UNESCO, UNICITRAL, UNESCAP and ILO, several intergovernmental and international organizations like WCO, OECD, ICSB, APEC, APCTT, etc. Still, WASME is emerging as a powerful international organization with representatives in different parts of the world that include Permanent Representatives, Senior Advisors, External Consultants etc. Vision To build WASME as a foremost world private and cohesive community of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that is dedicated to strengthen and foster them as prime driver of global economy Mission The mission of WASME is to be a catalyst in strengthening national and international cooperation for the growth and development of MSMEs Objectives The objectives of WASME for the growth and promotion of Micro organizations and MSME’s are as follows. - Articulating concerns and interests of MSMEs at various UN and international fora. - Networking with related/similar organisations - Capacity building of MSMEs through managerial and skill development programmes. - Carrying out research and studies on topical issues confronting MSMEs - Developing relationship between MSMEs in developed and developing countries by encouraging enterprise-to-enterprise cooperation. - Enlarging collaboration with UN agencies and international organisations. - Disseminating information on and about international developments in MSME sector.
