Brasses are a very versatile family of alloys. Based on copper-zinc, additional alloying elements can be used to increase strength, improve corrosion resistance (especially with respect to seawater) and to improve machinability. But they do not work well in forming applications. Brass sheet and brass plate, better known as “yellow brass” or “cartridge brass”, are created by alloying copper and zinc as well. So brass sheet and brass plate exhibit high corrosion resistance, good durability, and high electrical conductivity, along with a shiny, decorative appearance. For example, due to their elegant appearance, brass sheets are commonly used for interior designs of luxurious places and making artworks.Brass sheet and brass plate are generally very easy to cut into brass strip, machine, and fabricate. The versatility of brass sheet and plate make them useful materials for a broad range of applications.
