This book has been composed primarily due to my personal need for a comprehensive textbook on the pests of horticultural crops and methods to manage them in an integrated manner. With the widespread use of digital color photography and the high resolutions available even in basic digital cameras, it is now feasible to capture good quality images. Therefore, the primary purpose of writing this book was to provide a textbook that can be used to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students about the pests of horticultural crops.
It was also essential to guide practicing field-level workers, such as officers from the state department of Agriculture and commodity boards, as well as every farmer who is able to read English textbooks, with basic information about the pests of crops.
